In the last two years, I’ve done two things I never thought I’d do.
First, I became a freelancer specializing in content creation and copywriting in the digital marketing field. More importantly, though, I realized my dream of becoming a writer.
But this didn’t happen overnight — and it probably wouldn’t have if I hadn’t done the second thing, which was trade my old familiar life for a new one in Europe.
The decision was a gamble. After all, it went against everything I thought I was — impulsive, but no risk-taker, adverse to change, and very much set in my ways.

But I knew that a drastic, life-changing opportunity like the one I was presented was the kind of thing a homebody like me needed. After all, I liked my complacent life — it was nice and safe and easy.

But the thing is, it wasn’t fulfilling.
A part of me knew that if I stayed complacent, I would never have the motivation to follow my dreams. Except for a couple of creative writing courses in college, I hadn’t written anything for myself since high school.
I was halfway through my twenties, and I knew I had to do something to put myself on a different path — even if it was a difficult thing to do. Because I knew that if I could make it, good things would happen.
And you know what? I was right. It was a lot of work — I mean, a LOT of work. And it still is. But if I can achieve my dream, anyone can.

I might be blindly flying by the seat of my pants, but at least it’s forward momentum.
